 biography  Some generations later, Iwo Mine is the head of the family with his only daughter Niyo, who as of right now, is the peak in terms of circuit quality the family has produced. A very caring young girl who was very curious about magecraft. Her father would show great care for her because of this and would task her with tending to the few sheep they had. She did exponentially well at the task she was given and thus, he decided to introduce her to a certain experiment as a lesson at a young age that would prepare her for the family crest. This experiment involved using one of Niyo's lambs as sacrifice to harden her mentality, that she would later have to consume preparation for receiving their crest. And of course she’d fall ill after it for two weeks after. This traumatized the girl for a time and dissuaded her from wanting to continue the family’s craft.At some point, Iwo would introduce Niyo to a boy named Hauser Latoś. Their parents made an agreement that if certain conditions were met the two would get married in future. At the time Niyo found the boy charming. Believing he fit the image of a fairy tale prince charming and was infatuated with him. Showing him kindness and affection at a young age. But as the two got older, traits within Hauser began to unsettle Niyo. The look he often had when he looked at her. The way he spoke of her in a possessive manner and as if the two were already married. The future they weren’t guaranteed. But most of all how he spoke to her in a belittling manner as if she wasn’t capable of handling hearself and needed him. Between Hauser, their fathers and other mages, Niyo became aware of the world they lived in as mages. The horrors that came with being a mage began to break her naivety and how the circumstances of her birth made her lucky compared to other children of mages. How the arrangement of her and Hauser’s possible marriage was more of a business transaction and “for the sake of both their bloodlines” and pedigree. Her father taught her to act with gains and losses in mind, and through their family’s business, she started to get inklings of the mindset of other mages. When expressing her disinterest in these things and her rebelliousness started to set in, the affection and praise Iwo used to give Niyo began to lessen and proving more things Niyo found scorn worthy about mag society.Niyo would be lonely for a good amount of her childhood, until the maids who looked out for her managed to encourage her father to allow her in semi-public schooling, stating it would help her social skills for when she is to work in the family’s shop. In her preteen years, she met a boy her age that introduced her to other children  and gave her a small taste of what it's like to be a normal kid. She made new friends, went out more, found new hobbies and interests, and was starting to blossom into her own young lady. This boy's name is Casimir Canmore, and upon finding they were both mages in a silly accident, the two became best friends. They would do simple studies together and upon learning that Niyo could potentially take over her family’s shop, and Casimir wasn’t expected to do anything within his family, the two would spend more time together. Sort of living through each other. They both had little interest in mages as a society due to their experiences with their families, but in talking and studying with each other, they reinvigorated each other's desires to continue magecraft. Restoring pieces of hope that if they had met each other by chance and they shared a similar mindset, then maybe there could be others like them too. The two would study the basics and concepts together and help each other the best they could in their respective fields for when they planned to go to Clocktower. Niyo focuses on botany and her family's work, while also taking a particular liking to making bounded fields and various types of poisons and their antidotes. Learning to breed her own types of plants and even testing some of the poisons she made on herself (until getting in trouble with Casimir and her father about this). As a result, she has an unusually high poison tolerance.When the time came, Niyo and Casimir would enroll for Clocktower together. Niyo naturally goes to the Department of Botany, and Casimir choosing Modern Magecraft Theory.After some time at Clocktower, Niyo gets scouted by some people from Chaldea. While hesitant at first she eventually agrees to go after having a talk with Casimir about the opportunities it could bring. On their last day together, Casimir gives Niyo an old pendant that he claims to be a good luck charm. And Niyo promises to Casimir that she will put in the effort to make more friends and meet more like-minded people as they said they would long ago.In Chaldea, Niyo’s original job was that of tending to the greenhouse and working on her own plants, and providing assistance to the medical team. Eventually, Niyo would get tested for Rayshift compatibility when Chaldea needed to fill out their other positions and Master candidate was added to her list of jobs within the facility.
